Standing Tall With Diabetic Foot Care

Published by Beautician under Feet

‘Put on your dancing shoes’ could be the prelude to a gala evening spent on high heels and entertainment galore, but if you think this gives the girl any comfort, you are far from the truth. You might actually be forcing the lady to remain standing on her toes, much to her distress, for as long as the party lasts. There can be health hazards to the feet like metatarsalgia, hammertoes and bunions, apart from several related problems that might crop up from this. It hardly comes as a surprise that shoes that have high-heels and/or are close fitting do in most cases, bring about aches in the foot, particularly in the ball regions. And it is not only true with women but with men too who wear ill-fitting shoes or boots that have very little or no support for the arch. There can be other health issues as well that can lead to pain in the foot. As a result, foot care is of tremendous essence among almost everyone.

The need for taking regular care for the foot is very important because they work as the anchor of the body. Not only do the feet support the entire body weight while standing, but they also help us walk too. It has been commonly seen that, in many cases, we tend to ignore the foot and put too much stress on them. Not many people give as much care to the foot as they do to their faces, arms, shoulders, and other regions in the upper parts of the body. Of course, this is a mistake, and in fact, this is not desirable at all.

Various types of shoes, as well as other foot care products can be purchased from the market today. It has however been often seen that most of these products do not offer the care that they ought to. In most cases, the priority is to make a sale and thus they are all attractively designed. In an effort to make it look beautiful, the makers often compromise on the quality and thus, the foot remains neglected.

A large number of people also need some support to walk, because they have issues with mobility. The importance of the leg and the foot is certainly felt the most by these people. However it is important for all of us to realize how important our foot and legs truly are.

Some foot care are fortunately however quite good and that is the good news. Many of these products take care of your tired feet and take away the stress and the tension that they have to go through after a hard day of work. You might not be traveling a great deal, but still, a stress-filled day can leave your feet totally worn out, and this is where these foot care products come in handy.

Get Relief For Your Nail Fungus

Published by Beautician under Feet

Toenail Fungus is known in the medical world as onychomycosis. Strange word for a fairly disgusting condition. Disgusting though it may be, nail fungus is very common, especially in the toenails.

Nail fungus is caused by bacteria that makes its way into the toenail and gets embedded between the nail bed and the outer nail. It is embarassing and unsightly, and can be caused by a number of factors, like getting a crack in the toenail.

Fungus thrives in damp or moist environments. That is why you need to be especially vigilant if you sweat a lot or spend a lot of time in pools, or other moist spots. People who work in moist environments, wearing shoes, are very likely to get nail fungus in one form or another.

There are no easy or quick cures for nail fungus. There are, however, some home remedies that you can try. It is important to allow your feet to dry thoroughly after they have gotten wet, and to allow them to breathe freely throughout the day.

The germ killers in mouthwash are believed to be fairly effective against nail fungus. Soak your nails in a bowl of Listerine. Not only can it help the fungus go away, but your feet will smell minty-fresh, not medicin-y!

Mixtures of 50/50 white vinegar and distilled water can be effective, as can Eucalyptus oil applied directly to the affected nails. There is another oil, tea tree oil, that is supposed to be even better.

Finally, try applying Vick’s Vapo-Rub to the nails. Again here, it’s Eucalyptus that makes a difference and will help kill the bacteria.

If those remedies don’t help, you should talk to your doctor about getting a prescription medication.
